I have a serious question for anybody on here who uses the HeroMachine program.

I am wondering, has anybody else experienced problems with their final images once they have completed them?

I know I am a little late to bring this to everybody's attention, but I noticed this began to occur for me once they stopped with the old format on HM3 and we had to download it “locally” as they said, and that was quite a while back.

I have tried doing designs where I will make certain items transparent so you can see the character's eyes or face beneath, yet when I hit “Print” as instructed and we have effectively “Saved” our image, everything comes out looking differently.

An example of this can be seen with my design for my Downtown character from my “War Wolves vs. SCARS” series.

Observe, this is what he was supposed to look like in the final finished product:

Untitled

But instead, I got this:

Untitled

The visor on his helmet was supposed to be transparent so you can see his eyes underneath.

I've also experienced this issue with items that give off shadows, such as hoods.

In this case, I created a rough design where I have a hooded character and as you can see, it's competely blacked out where the hood's shadow is supposed to go:

Hooded

That should not be the case.

I don't know what is causing this to happen. Did I do something wrong? Could my file have been corrupted somehow? Do I have an outdated graphical output?

Has this happened to any of you? And if so, how did you solve the problem?

I would truly appreciate any output that can be given because I have enjoyed creating new designs with HM3 and I have also enjoyed being able to discover all of your designs and I would truly hate having to give up on it because of some program error, so if you have anything to input to offer, I would truly appreciate that.

Thank you!

Once again, it's been a long damn time since I've posted a journal entry on here, but I am still very much among the living and hope you are all enjoying this new year.

I don't care what the groundhog says, but I can report that I DID NOT see my shadow on February 2nd when I got up to get the mail!!!

I'm still posting on here with my "War Wolves vs. SCARS" character designs and have been playing the hell out of this highly addictive RPG game called "Stardew Valley," taking up LOTS of my free time lately.

I still have fighting game ideas floating around in my head also, some which come and go, and others I definitely want to do and that being said, I do have other ideas I hope to get listed up pretty soon:

Schoolyard Smackdown: This is my answer to Capcom's "Rival Schools" series as a high school themed fighter, inspired by "After School Brawlers" by Stylistic86 and "The Recess Fight Club" by ChrisFClarke.

Chrono Chaos: An idea that pits warriors from throughout different time periods against each other, modeled after SNK's "World Heroes" and Sega's "Eternal Champions," complete with fatality moves and fatal stage hazards.

Martial Spirits: A retro 2-D fighting game that pays homage to 90's fighting classics such as "Street Fighter II" and "Fatal Fury," along with lesser-known titles like "Fighter's History" and "Kaiser Knuckle/Global Champion."

Fun Time Fighters: A toy-themed fighter where the combatants are mostly parodies of real-life toy lines such as G.I. Joe and Transformers, inspired heavily by "Toy Story" and "ClayFighter."

I still want to do a more violent Mortal Kombat/Killer Instinct type idea too and also hope to get some stuff out for my "Akuma no Ikari" idea as well.

Until then, KEEP IT METAL AS ALWAYS!!! :headbang:

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that another idea I've been having is to update some of the designs for my SWS characters, as well as giving a proper "introduction" like I have with my other ideas, since my SWS designs were some of my very first HeroMachine3 designs before I started getting better and now that I've done so, I want to make some of them look better than what they were before.

Given that it is almost the middle of October and thus Halloween is not too far away, it is time for Metallic Mythrill to deliver you some monster-themed goodness for this special occasion. Presenting...

MOONLIGHT WARRIORS (formerly known as “Horror Show”)

  1. Overview

  2. Story

  3. Characters

  4. Notes

  5. Conclusion

  1. Overview

Moonlight Warriors is a horror-themed fighting game featuring monsters and other supernatural creatures based upon common movie monsters, as well as other characters from literature and folklore. It is largely inspired by Capcom's “Darkstalkers” series, along with character ideas based on what I've seen in the “Mortal Kombat” and “Killer Instinct” fighting games and from the famed “Castlevania” series as well.

2. Story

500 years ago, the nefarious vampire overlord Valek was defeated by the Holy Order of the Dragon Slayers and sealed away for what was supposed to be an eternity.

Then he was reawakened by a mysterious sinister force, which was followed by a series of unexplained calamities all around the world involving what could only be described as being carried out by “nightmarish” creatures.

Now freed from his slumber, he seeks to expand his reach beyond his homeland. Able to sense the aura of powerful supernatural entities within our realm, he calls them forth by hosting a tournament to see who is the most powerful creature out there.

Secretly, he wishes to gain powerful allies in his quest for domination, while at the same time eliminating any threats that could stand in his way.

However, things aren't what they may seem as otherworldly forces look on from the shadows...

3. Characters

Core Cast:

  • Reina Darkthorne (voiced by Grey DeLisle) – A sexy dhampir huntress and the poster girl for “Moonlight Warriors.”

  • Cole Tallon (voiced by Troy Baker in human form, Steven Blum in werewolf form) – A Canadian man afflicted with lycanthropy who is seeking to overcome his curse.

  • Ramos-Ka (voiced by David Fennoy) – An Egyptian mummy who was once a powerful, tyrannical pharaoh in life, now seeking to reclaim his lost empire.

  • Jurgen von Schwarzheim (voiced by Fred Tatasciore) – A creature brought to life through science who now only seeks to protect his human friend Otto (voiced by Gerry Rosenthal).

  • Captain Bloodworth (voiced by Michael McConnohie) – A zombie pirate captain originally from Great Britain who must now forever wander the world following an insatiable lust for wealth.

  • Willem Van Helsing (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) – A descendant of the famed vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, who carries out his tradition using his skills and LOTS of firepower.

  • Buford Buckley (no voice actor) – A deformed cannibal redneck axe murderer from the Louisiana bayou who follows the disembodied voice of his deceased mother.

  • Xiuhcoatl (voiced by Michael Mando) – A man from Mexico who is possessed by the spirit of a murderous Aztec high priest through the cursed dagger he carries.

  • Kosetsu (voiced by Laura Thorne) – A Japanese yuki-onna seeking her lost love.

  • Quarg (voiced by Khary Payton) – A vicious sahuagin warrior exiled from Atlantis now terrorizing the surface world.

  • Silas (voiced by Brad Swaile) – A life-sized puppet possessed by the soul of the madman who murdered his kindly creator.

  • Green Hell (vocal effects provided by Frank Welker) – A demonic plant from Brazil brought to life through Asmodeus' influence.

  • Morgan O'Riordain (voiced by Sophie Turner) – An Irish librarian turned necromancer, who guided by the aid of her ancestor (voiced by Lena Headey), seeks to apprehend rogue spirits and return them to the netherworld.

  • Garras (voiced by Marc Swint) – A murderous hobgoblin who serves as a servant and bodyguard for Valek.

  • Firestarter (voiced by Crispin Freeman) – A pyrokinetic madman named Keith Burnside, who is ironically the son of a firefighter and sees the tournament as a chance to cause more chaos.

  • Roland de Chambord (voiced by Roger Craig Smith) – A reanimated skeleton who was originally a knight with the Holy Order of the Dragon Slayers, now resurrected to serve as an enforcer for Valek.

Sub-Boss:

  • Valek (voiced by Gerald C. Rivers) – A powerful vampire overlord from Romania and the host of the tournament.

Final Boss:

  • Asmodeus (voiced by Liam O'Brien) – The Prince of Demons who is the actual force behind Valek's awakening and all the supernatural goings on in the world, seeking the power to take his place as the King of Demons.

DLC:

  • Jack the Ripper (voiced by Alec Newman) – Based upon the real-life serial killer, who attacks his enemies with a seemingly limitless amount of blades and the ability to hide within the shadows.

  • Arshama (voiced by Richard Epcar) – A dark djinn who twists the wishes of those unfortunate enough to cross his path.

  • Mercuron (voiced by Tyrone Savage) – An alien explorer with a malleable body he can use to form into various different kinds of weapons.

  • Taurus (voiced by Mike McFarland) – A minotaur from the island of Crete who seeks revenge after his ancient home is destroyed by demonic forces.

  • Johannes Hamelin (voiced by Stuart McLean) – A pied piper who can control any living thing with his hypnotic playing.

  • Dagmar Borste (voiced by Christine Marine Cabanos) – A demonic maid who loyally serves Valek in both his castle and the tournament at hand.

Guest DLC:

  • Scorpion (voiced by Patrick Seitz) – A vengeful wraith appearing from “Mortal Kombat.”

  • Lilith Aensland (voiced by Michelle Ruff) – A succubus appearing from “Darkstalkers.”

  • Frank West (voiced by T.J. Rotolo) – A zombie slaying survivor from “Dead Rising.”

  • Riptor (voiced by Zachary Quarles) – A bio-weapon from “Killer Instinct.”

  • Spawn (voiced by Keith David) – A hellspawn from the comic series “Spawn.”

  • John Constantine (voiced by Matt Ryan) – An occult detective from DC Comics.

4. Notes:

  • This would be a 2.5D game with a “Mature” rating due to language, violence, gore, and other suggestive themes.

  • For the regular “Arcade” mode, there are 8 matchups, the sub-boss fight against Valek, and then the final battle against Asmodeus.

  • Aside from “Arcade” mode, there will also be “Versus,” “Online,” “Survival” and “Training” modes, as well as galleries for unlocked art.

  • Every fighter has his/her own background, minus the guest DLC characters.

  • Every combatant has their own power up mechanic similar to a Street Fighter V-Trigger in this case known as a “Moon Spell” that can boost the stats of the fighter in various different ways.

  • In addition to their special attacks, every fighter has two super moves known as “Nightmare Combos” and a fatality-type move called the “Final Nightmare” that can actually kill your opponent.

  • For the ending sequence, we are treated to a montage of horror movie posters with each of the characters posing and their voice actors/actresses listed next to them before a bloody message is shown scrawled on a theater wall that says “Metallic Mythrill thanks you for playing!” The song playing in the background will be “Halloween” by King Diamond.

5. Conclusion

I've had this idea floating around in my head for quite a while now and with Halloween fast approaching, it's only appropriate to reveal it now. I did what I could to come up with a wide array of possible characters, much so I actually have some ideas for a sequel lined up!

Things could be subject to change, but hopefully most of this is ironed out for good.

Aside from that, there are other HM3 inspired ideas I'm hoping to get back on and have my designs up sometime in the future.

And as always, a special shoutout to some of the top DFZ guys on here:

Hello fellow Deviants! (and just anybody else who gives a shit in general)

Once again it has been a while since you have heard from your friendly neighborhood Metal Harbinger, but you can rest assured that he is still among the living. Furthermore, I'm hopeful you are still all hanging in there throughout these chaotic times.

I am still getting the hang of this new layout on DeviantArt and after having to download the updated version of Microsoft Edge, I am hopeful that I am finally on par and will be able to move forth from here on out without any of the old bugs that were holding me back.

With that being said, hopefully I will soon start posting things on here again, including more Marvel-DC fusion designs and game ideas that involve more than just the name listings.

Obviously, I have a VERY overactive imagination sometimes and suffer from the curse of being pulled in a bunch of different directions at once, and once again I find more ideas floating through my head.

One of which is an at least more teen-friendly fighting game idea involving fighting toys that I would called “Fun Time Fighters,” inspired by a long forgotten fighting game series called “ClayFighter” and also taking inspiration from movies like “Toy Story” and “Wreck-It Ralph.”

Second is a more mature idea inspired by ChrisFClarke's “Drawn to Murder,” which takes the idea of one's childhood being savagely torn apart by vicious parodies, in this case, it would be classic video game characters receiving the grand violation.

Some character ideas would include Manuel, a Mexican-American auto mechanic who is a parody of Mario, Zeke, who parodies Link from “Legend of Zelda,” Lexus Aryan who spoofs Samus Aran, and a Mega Man parody.

The working title is “Retro Hell.”

Well once again, I hope you're all hanging in there and being delightfully devious as usual!
